Scynce Insider Newsletter Q4 2021 - ScynceLED

It has been an incredible year and as it comes to an end, we wanted to reach out and share a few things with you. We also wanted to extend our sincere appreciation to all of our customers. Without each one of you, this company, this family, this Tribe, wouldn’t exist. As we move into the future, there are only more incredible things to come.

If you weren’t already aware, our company’s purpose is to  serve and empower those that have dedicated their careers to advancing the potential of light as a key tool of the trade for farming. We share this because our focus and efforts all revolve around this core tenet.

Focus on Quality

We’re not the cheapest and we’re not just another white labeled light coming from overseas. We offer true American ingenuity with technology built-in to improve the craft of horticulture, assisting in the quest to achieve the best results possible. It’s an individualistic journey and we can tailor the experience to your unique style and specific needs.

Everything we do is based on quality.

USU – Crop Physiology Department

After a brief conversation at MJ BizCon, we got invited to visit Dr. Bruce Bugbee at his office at Utah State University. If you don’t already know, he is a world renown horticulture scientist and also the owner of Apogee Instruments. Plans are currently being laid but it looks like we will become their preeminent lighting partner. That means virtually every article they publish will be conducted under Scynce lighting. They are already designing studies to prove out the value of our optics and spectrum tuning. This is three years in the making and will change the landscape of the future of our company.

Cultivation Insights

If you haven’t made your way to the recipe section of our website before, or even if you have in the past, we recently did a complete overhaul and have laid things out in an easier to understand fashion. We break down the concepts of full power spectrum adaptability (tuning) and why certain spectrums work best for different morphological triggers, really highlighting the educational component of what we are trying to bring to growers everywhere.

We are starting to see a real adoption of our more complex recipes showing off a full suite of the abilities of full power spectrum adaptability. Our activation recipes for cryptochrome and phytochrome triggers have some very in depth horticultural concepts behind them and are now being used by more and more commercial and hobby growers. These recipes highlight the use of spectrums at certain times in a growth cycle, bringing out new expressions on old genetics and really dialing in other new possibilities.

Adding Utah State University into our research team will really be propelling our spectrum research forward. Most recently we have been concentrating our research efforts on warmer tilted spectrum settings in order to study flower onset, leaf production and overall yield. We have a few different growers on the research squad playing with these spectrums to see what results, if any, from these often ignored portions of the spectrum. Our friends over at Poetry of Plants and Solventless Bake and Vape are collecting some great data for us currently and we hope to have more to share with you in the coming months.

Technology Update

Wireless control from  anywhere in the world is now here!

With our new Echo Air and Tempo Air controllers, you can access recipes, scheduling and all other features through our new web-based control app, Theia Cirrus. It also includes some really cool new features such as recipe calendar scheduling. Find out all about it in this short video introduction:

Thank you for trusting Scynce with your craft. We promise to hold true to our path and continue to develop technology that creates new ways to unlock the hidden potential of all plants.

We wish you and your families all the best in 2022. Happy Holidays!
